The Naval and Maritime Technology Center (CTN) is a non-profit business association founded in 2003 that brings together companies from the maritime and shipbuilding sectors, along with the Public Administration, represented by the Institute for the Development of the Region of Murcia. Its mission is to improve the competitiveness of companies through innovative products and services, supported by a multidisciplinary team of professionals ranging from naval and industrial engineering to biology, aquaculture, data science, and artificial intelligence. The creation of our Federation was a necessity following the political and social changes that took place at all levels in Spain in the late 1970s. This change brought with it a significant increase in regulations that directly affected our sector, all within a national scope: tax reform, technical and health regulations, trade margins, Value Added Tax, etc.<\/p>\n
The above laid the groundwork for the Provincial Associations to consider the need for coordinated action to represent, as a single collective, the general and common interests before the Central Administration. This, however, was done with absolute respect for all the powers specifically entrusted to the Autonomous Communities.<\/p>\n
As a result of these concerns and following contacts with the various Provincial Associations, our National Federation was established on May 31, 1978, with the Associations of Madrid, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bSeville, and Palencia as its promoters.<\/p>\n
This constitution was carried out under the provisions of Law 19\/1977, of April 1, on the Regulation of the Right to Trade Union Association, and Royal Decree 873\/77, of April 22, and other complementary provisions. After the appropriate legal procedures, our registration as a National Federation was published in the Official State Gazette, dated July 4, 1978.<\/p>\n
